JOB SUMMARY: Performs accounts payable duties involved in receiving and reviewing invoices, processing payments and maintaining records and reports. OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Class III. 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: 

A. Education: High School graduate or equivalent required, Associate's degree in Business preferred. 

B. Personal Job-Related Skills: Typing speed of 45 wpm, operation of ten key adding machine/calculator. Familiar with operating personal computers and knowledge of general clerical duties. Knowledge of state and federal laws regarding employee compensation. 

C. Licensure, Registry or Certification: None required. 

D. Experience: 

1. Prior Work Experience: One year experience in accounts payables. 

2. Technical Training: None required. 

E. Physical and Mental Requirements: Duties of the position require intermittent walking, sitting, and standing. Some bending, stooping, and reaching are required with the lifting of items up to a weight of 40 pounds. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Rating 

A. Receives and processes invoices for payment. 

1. Establishes vendor files. 

2. Reviews invoices for accuracy, purchase approval, and compliance with 

purchase orders. 

3. Handles telephone calls and correspondence from vendors. 

B. Prepare Accounts Payable checks and have them processed for disbursement. 

1. Reviews invoices to take advantage of credits or discounts. 
2. Obtains required signatures on accounts payable checks. 
3. Disburse checks to vendors in a timely manner. 
C. Maintains Accounts Payable records and prepares reports. Rating 

1. Records all invoices, adjustments and payments in the accounts payable 

System. 

2. Prepares and maintains ledgers, journals, logs and files as required. 

3. Compiles reports on accounts payable activities for submission to 

Administration. 
D. Other General Accounting duties as assigned. 

OTHER SIGNIFICANT REQUIREMENTS: 

A. Maintains confidentiality while working with confidential matters on a daily basis. 

B. Interacts with all employees and managers on personal compensation matters. 

C. Follows safety guidelines and policies for the Hospital District
