SUMMARY OF POSITION The Grain Clerk is responsible for handling all inbound and outbound grain shipments. As well as provides excellent service to members and patrons. Provides support and backup for the Grain Marketing Manager. Provides backup receptionist functions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include the following. Other duties may be assigned.) Process proof of yields, Process settlements for the inbound grain, Application and invoicing of outbound grain, Back up for Off -farm tickets and settlements, Enter contracts, Verify and balance ticket imports daily, Keep work area neat, clean and organized; Wait on customers and assist answering the phone; Files copies of tickets; Enter sales tickets; Promote company and branch location employee cohesiveness through effective communication, teamwork and shared services; Provides excellent customer service by managing difficult or emotional situations; responding promptly to customer needs, resolving questions, complaints and concerns immediately and meeting commitments; Effectively communicates by verbal and written means with customers, employees and management; Maintains and promotes safety awareness; follows safety policies, procedures and reporting requirements; 2 Present a clean and professional appearance; Employee is required to perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. This position requires excellent computer operation skills, individual should have knowledge of Accounting software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software and Inventory software. Willing to seek out and attend additional continuing education, seminars, classes or other job related education requirements or opportunities.
LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Must be able to think quickly and perform a mental assessment of workplace hazards, take appropriate precautions, and choose appropriate PPE as dictated by need, regulation, and labeling.
