JOB SUMMARY:

Scrapes, washes and puts away dishes and pots. Maintains clean floor and work areas. Serves on resident tray line and assembles and transports trays. OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Class III.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
  • Personal Job-Related Skills: Ability to read and write.
  • Licensure, Registry or Certification: None required.
  • Experience:
  • Prior Work Experience: Entry level position.
  • Technical Training: None required.
  • Physical and Mental Requirements: Duties of the position require extended periods of standing or walking. Bending, stooping, and reaching required to handle supplies and clean. Pushing and pulling of carts and lifting up to 50 pounds required. The ability to comprehend and follow written or verbal instructions and directions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Process soiled dishes and silverware.
  • Processes properly dishes for the dish washing machine.
  • Assures operation and use of dish machine is performed correctly.
  • Assures that clean dishes are returned to designated place.
  • Monitors continuous operation of conveyor in cafeteria dish room closely.
  • Uses garbage disposal according to directions.
  • Prepares silverware for resident service.
  • Silverware is wrapped according to proper procedure.
  • Serves resident tray line.
  • Sets up station properly and on time.
  • Places correct items on trays. Does not cause tray line to stop.
  • Disposes of trash.
  • Delivers trash boxes properly to dumpsters.

OTHER SIGNIFICANT REQUIREMENTS:

  • Follows safety guidelines and policies for Hospital District.
